Kang Brings Extensive Digital Marketing and Analytics Expertise to GSI
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., June 2, 2008 - Nick Pahade, president of gsi interactive(SM) - a division of GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC), today announced that David Kang has joined the company as vice president of client services. In this role, Kang will be responsible for achieving the highest degree of satisfaction for gsi interactive's partners. Kang will report directly to Pahade. gsi interactive, with comprehensive digital marketing and design offerings, and e-Dialog Inc., a leading e-mail service provider, comprise GSI's interactive marketing services division.
"I am excited to have David as part of gsi interactive's leadership team," said Pahade. "His proven track record of developing innovative, creative, and action-oriented marketing strategies for great brands makes him an ideal fit for gsi interactive."
As vice president of client services, Kang will oversee the development of marketing and design strategies as well as the relationship with partners within the general and specialties vertical. gsi interactive provides a comprehensive suite of interactive marketing and design solutions that helps GSI partners drive significant revenue across multiple channels. Its services include strategic interactive marketing programs, emerging media, user experience and design, in-house photography, product content development, and catalog services.
"With focus on innovation and creativity, gsi interactive provides accountable creative, user experience, and marketing practices - efforts here are centered on producing bottom line results," said Kang. "While the industry as a whole trudges toward accountability, gsi interactive openly challenges the weakest assumptions in faith-based marketing unlike any marketing services organization I've known. We have an enormously relevant message to all marketers, digital or otherwise, and I look forward to helping to expand an agency built around what our partners need."
Prior to joining GSI, Kang held dual client and new business roles as senior partner and new business director at Beyond Interaction (formerly Beyond Interactive Inc.), a digital marketing and media company based in New York City, where he led digital and direct marketing programs for leading brands and retailers. His responsibilities included managing accounts with global responsibility and identifying business development opportunities. Under his effort, Beyond Interaction was ranked #4 in OMMA's Top 25 Interactive Agencies of 2007. Prior to his work at Beyond Interactive, Kang held key leadership roles at McCann Erickson Relationship Marketing, Deep Fry LLC, and MVBMS/Euro RSCG.
Kang earned a master's degree from The Fuqua School of Business and a bachelor's degree in English from New York University. Kang is also an avid columnist for Mediapost Magazine's Metrics Insider and an active member of the Web Analytics Association.
